There are really two main branches of services offered by this shelter. We
have traditional field Animal Control services and we also have in-house shelter
services.
Field Services
This is what most people think of when the term "dog-catcher" comes to
mind. However, our modern day Animal Control Officers are much more than
mere dog-catchers. They do still pick up unwanted pets and strays but they
also have many law-enforcing powers.
In-House Shelter Services
The functions that take place within the shelter walls are often
thought to be typical Humane Society functions. We are very lucky in our
community to have an independent shelter that is generously assisted by the
local Humane Society and not governed
by them.
